“Ci sono troppe cose da vedere per restare a casa!” I saw written somewhere once…There are too many things to see to stay home! This is especially true in bella Italia.
Italy offers everything you could possibly want for travelling, enjoying yourself, and indulging in the pleasures of life. Each region provides its own particular charm and specialties. This begins what will be a series of essays covering the best of the country: the famous places and the lesser known ones.
There are beautiful historic cities such as Rome, Florence, Venice, and Siena….

Ancient medieval villages in Central Italy like Montepulciano, Assisi, and Orvieto…

Peaceful countryside like that of Tuscany, Umbria, or even Lazio…

Breathtaking beaches and sea of the South in Sicily and Puglia…

And high mountains along with wilderness in the Dolomites or Abruzzo…

Not to mention numerous natural wonders like volcanos and thermal baths…

Then, there’s the lifestyle, the people, and the food which vary from north to south as much as the landscape does.
The lifestyle in general is slow, social, and relaxing, becoming more so the further south you go.

The people are warm, beautiful, and passionate, again these qualities increasing as you travel south.

The food is simple, fresh, and delightfully delicious wherever you go.
